Brooklynn's First Festival

We took Brooklynn to the Apple Festival in Hendersonville, N.C. today and she really had a good time. She really loves watching all the people and just taking everything in. I can't wait until she's a little older so she can really enjoy all the cool things for kids to do there...well, then again...it WAS nice to just have her sit in the stroller most of the day.

Enough of the bottle, give me the real stuff!

Brooklynn is venturing into the "real food" realm and man is it messy! She's learning to love it though. This was her first time having carrots and she seemed to get more on her face than anywhere else.

Now we're in trouble...

What an amazing moment to experience as parents. Joy glanced over while we were watching a little TV and yelled at me that Brooklynn was crawling. I didn't believe her at first but after doing a double-take we were both scrambling for the video camera and the rest is history. Hope you enjoy this moment as much as we did.

Girly pink...but in a good sort of way.

I'm so blessed to have two amazing girls in my life. At first I was leaning toward the notion of having a little boy, but after watching Joy and Brooklynn these last six months bond in a way that only a mother and daughter can, I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. I love these girls (and all the pink that they bring in my life!)

Six months old and loving it!

Brooklynn turned six months old today! I can't believe it's already been half a year since we were in that delivery room welcoming her into this world. She's grown up so fast. She's sitting up without any problems now and she has two bottom teeth that are coming in more and more each day.

On no! Not a Cubs fan...

Brooklynn put on her Chicago Cubs outfit for the first time today and went over to show it off to her Grampy...who's one die-hard Cubs fan. A picture moment was born. Apparently it wasn't a good luck charm because the Cubs lost their game. I'm still determined to convert my daughter to becoming a Reds fan.

I'm big stuff and I know it!

And now yet another milestone. Brooklynn has just now started sitting up on her own. She still wobbles a little bit and falls back at times, but she thinks she is such big stuff while she's sitting up.

Mmmm....me like cereal!

What a milestone! Brooklynn ate her first solid food this week as she downed a bunch of rice cereal. She must have been paying attention to us as we ate our meals because she knew exactly what to do once we stuck the spoon into her mouth. As you can see she cleaned her bowl...this little girl can eat! It was so cool to see her take this next step.

Little miss "laid-back"

PawPaw and MeMe were in town this weekend and Brooklynn got a lot of attention. She loves just hanging out in MeMe's arms taking in the world around her.

Getting ready for bed has never been so cute.

Brooklynn's bathtime always brings smiles to her face. She looks especially cute nestled in her daddy's arms and wrapped up in her little hooded towel.

What in the...?

I can't believe my little girl actually had a Red Sox hat on. Things just have to change. Our good friend Bill Secord slapped one on her head when I wasn't looking!

5 months old! Both of them!

We met up with an old college friend, David Blanton, and his wife Jill in Charlotte. They just had a little baby girl 5 months ago named Carsyn Danielle. What's crazy is that she was born on the exact same day that Brooklynn was born so we have a couple baby girls that share the same birthday! What are the chances?!?

Who in the world do I look like?

The big debate right now is the topic of who does Brooklynn look more like. We thought we would post up photos of Joy and myself at just about Brooklynn's age now. Please leave a comment and let us know who gets your vote.

Happy Fourth of July!

Brooklynn celebrated her first fourth of July holiday. She ended up sleeping right through all the fireworks!

First pool visit a little on the cold side!

We took Brooklynn to the pool this past weekend and her first experience was a rough one to say the least. The pool had just been filled so the water was quite chilly...a lot colder than the warm bath water that she has been so used to. Hopefully we can take her back when the water is a bit warmer. She looked really cute in her little bikini though!

Rich's First Father's Day

How amazing it is for me to see Rich with our little girl! He is the most amazing dad! I am so proud of both of them.

I get to finally celebrate my first official Father's Day! There's nothing like being a father and you can't really appreciate it until you're one yourself. Pretty exciting stuff if I say so myself.

We had a big family outing down to the Reedy River Park today here in Greenville. They just put up this bridge over the falls that really is quite impressive. I'm sure there will be many more trips to this park in Brooklynn's lifetime.

Almost 13 pounds of pure joy!

Brooklynn sure is growing up so fast! At her check-up last week she weighed in at 12 pounds 11 ounces and measured a whopping 22 and 3/4 inches long! She's also starting to sleep through the night which makes her parents VERY happy!

With the weather being perfect so far this spring, Brooklynn got to enjoy the outdoors at Grammy and Grandpa's house for the first time. She loved taking in all the colorful flowers and plants!

Some more family members make the journey!

Brooklynn's Great Aunt Eileen and Great Uncle Bob came all the way from New Jersey to visit her. She got some extra special attention from both of them as well as her Grammy and Grandpa. Can you say "spoilage?"
